"Tou Koutaliou" Fig - Traditional Greek fruit preserve
“Tou koutaliou” stands for sweets served by spoon in Greece. A syrupy preserve with whole figs, a subtle aroma and a honey-like sweetness in the mouth.
Origin: You can find all kinds of “tou koutaliou” treats all over the country. Yet, the picturesque, mythical mountain of Pelion could easily claim the title of “tou koutaliou best sweets”.
Pelion is famous for its traditional little grey stoned houses and paved alleys that charm in abundance, as well as for its unique landscape. It has to one side the Pagasitikos Gulf and to the other the Aegean Sea.
On this magical mountain, nature flourishes all year long, giving life to a vast variety of fruit trees, which lavishly offer their treasures to the local cuisine.
